Master Linda Vargas – 4th Dan Black Belt
Master Linda Vargas 4th Dan Black Belt! I need to take a moment express gratitude, to my husband Grandmaster Peter Vargas who has trained me; I know it hasn’t been easy, but I hope I’ve made you proud – I LOVE YOU and THANK YOU. To the friends near and far, to our students, our parents, and our community who always encourage me to keep moving forward you have played a huge role in my journey I am forever grateful. – THANK YOU.
I would not be where I am today if not for what I have learned to be the 2 most important tenets of Taekwondo in my life and my journey “PERSEVERANCE (continued effort to do or achieve something despite difficulties, failure, or opposition) and INDOMITABLE SPIRIT (strong, brave, and impossible to defeat or make afraid; someone who never gives up, to have strength that comes from within)”.
Everyone that knows me personally, professionally and/or even just met me easily convey how “I am strong”, “I am a survivor”, “I got this” but what they don’t know or see is the constant struggle with the permanent scars both aesthetically and mentally where I have to persistently remind myself that only GOD knows why I was chosen to endure these obstacles and I must stand strong in my faith and continue to wake up and show up.
All of these have only made me stronger, but I am human.
4th Degree Black Belt – Master Instructor meaning if you look it up reads “the wearer has a good understanding of the fundamental concepts and techniques of a martial art style but has not yet perfected their skills.
This is true to life not just in Martial Arts!
